Dear Sir or Madam:
We are in the process of putting together our 5th and FINAL U.S.O. (style) Show for our Veterans, with the help of the Amvets and the American Legion in Sanford, and would like to know if you would consider a donation to assist us with this venture. Your donation would help in the following ways: it would either, help fund the show, for example, purchase decorations and other necessities for the show; it could be a prize that we would use for one of our many FREE DRAWINGS; or it could be food for our FREE BUFFET before the show. This year the show will be held at the Mousam View Place (former Knights of Columbus Hall) located at: 47 High Street, Sanford, ME on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
This show is gearing up to be the biggest one yet. There will be a buffet before the show & live entertainment. During the middle of the show, we will have performers dressed in Military uniforms to come out for a Special Tribute to our VETERANS & to the VICTIMS & HEROES of 911, and then we would continue with the entertainment through until the end. It should be a great afternoon & evening for the Veterans & their guests. This event, (buffet, raffles and entertainment) is totally free of charge. It’s our way of saying THANK YOU to our Veterans & their families.
I will be making up a program to pass out to every guest at the door; we will also be making t-shirts for the event both of which will list our “Corporate Sponsors” to show everyone know who assisted us with the show, and I would LOVE to add your company name to the list. We have donations coming from as far away as California.
Anything you could donate, now matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated. Also, it would be great if you could help us spread the word this year. The show is open to any Soldier, Veteran, Hero or Victim (family member or friend) of 911 and their guests. Doors will open at 11:00 am, space will be limited and there will be no reservations taken, it will be first come first serve.

Third annual Halloween Candy buy back is happening at Get Fired UP
November 1st,2nd,3rd.
This year it is even more important to participate because all of the candy they buy back (at the rate of a $2.00 gift certificate per pound) will be sent to soldiers serving in our military in Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan. They will also throw in an extra 10% off one item if you stay and paint using your buy back money.

The day after Thanksgiving many Moms head out to the mall and big box stores to fight the crowds to get the best prices on Christmas gifts. This leaves the kiddos home with Dad.
Get Fired Up will open at 9:00 AM the day after Thanksgiving for Dad to bring the kids in to paint for Mom. We have lists at the studio for Mom to pick up in advance and fill in what she would like to have painted for her, along with a space for favorite colors.
Please stop in and get your list made out and make sure your hubby, friend, care giver whoever will be in charge of the children know to bring them to Get Fired Up.
We will take reservations for this day in case it is easier to motivate Dad with a specific time.

1.3 lb package of chicken tenderloins ($2.31)
1 bag of frozen corn ($.88)
1 small sweet potato ($.40)
About 2 cups of BBQ sauce ($.75)
Water1 box Jiffy cornbread mix ($.42)

1/3 cup milk ($.05)

Directions
1. Spray bottom of crockpot with cooking spray. Dice chicken tenderloins into bite size pieces and place them in the bottom of the crockpot.2. Peel and dice sweet potato into 1/2 inch cubes. Add to crockpot and mix in with the chicken and corn.3. Pour bottle of BBQ sauce over the mixture in the crockpot. Add about 1/4 cup of water and stir through.4. Swine flu hits Maine: Kennebunk school, Arundel day care closed

KENNEBUNK, Maine — Kennebunk Elementary School and the Crayon Academy day care center in Arundel were both closed late Wednesday after two students were found to have the symptoms of H1N1, or swine flu.
Gov. John Baldacci, state Education Commissioner Susan A. Gendron, Dr. Dora Anne Mills, director of the Maine CDC, and local education officials announced the closures.
Earlier Wednesday, Baldacci and Mills held a news conference to announce three confirmed cases of swine flu in Maine. They said all three patients were adults and all were recovering at home. Two were identified as being from Kennebec County and the third in York County. The two children in Kennebunk, if confirmed to have swine flu, would be the fourth and fifth cases in the state.
"We have a probable case of swine flu influenza in one child at Kennebunk Elementary School," said MSAD 71 Assistant Superintendent Wayne Dorr. "Upon the direction of the commissioner, we have decided to close the school."
Both KES and the day care center will be closed for seven calendar days, authorities said. Dorr said all other district schools will open as usual today, and that extracurricular activities will go on as planned. He said district officials were busy trying to contact parents on Wednesday night, but that they would hold a press conference at 10 a.m. today at Kennebunk Town Hall.
As news began to spread around town Wednesday night, phones rang as parents shared information and looked for answers.
"I'm freaking out," said Drew Palmer, father of a second-grader at KES, late Wednesday night. "I heard about it (swine flu) on TV today."
High school students took to Facebook to share the news, as well as their concerns.
"I think it's time to live in a bubble," one wrote. "I am terrified."
After hearing of the possible new cases, Baldacci signed an executive order declaring a civil emergency that will allow the state to better respond to the emerging threat posed by swine flu.
"This is a serious situation," Baldacci said. "We are taking these precautions to slow the spread of the flu and to make sure Maine can respond quickly and efficiently."
According to the governor's office, the two children have symptoms consistent with swine flu and are a household contact with a person identified with the infection. Earlier on Wednesday, the Maine CDC announced that three adults in Maine had been identified with swine flu.
Parents are being warned to bring their children to a doctor if they exhibit symptoms such as fever and respiratory symptoms.
N.H. prepares
So far, no cases have been identified in New Hampshire, said Kris Neilsen, communications director for the N.H. Department of Health and Human Services.
Both New Hampshire and Maine are ramping up efforts to deal with the flu. Hospitals and doctors offices in both states are taking rapid tests at their offices or emergency rooms if a patient has likely symptoms, which are sent to state laboratories.
In addition, Govs. John Lynch and Baldacci and top health officials are meeting with emergency responders in each state, including Homeland Security officials, Red Cross personnel and cabinet members in case it is necessary to expand the states' emergency services.

Used 6.96 ECB and paid $0.25 cents for tax OOP
Got 7.98 back in ECB

3 Suave Shampoo/body wash- 2.00 each
2 Pringles- 1.99 (full size, my CVS did not carry the minis)
Used 2/$1.00 off coupons for pringles
Used FREE Suave coupon
Used $7.98 in ECB, paid $0.00 OOP

Somehow I must have gotten an incorrect Suave product because my ECBs for suave did not print, however the girl rang the FREE coupon in incorrectly so they gave me $2.00 back. Also the were out of the Fusion Gamer, so I'l have to go back tomorrow or get a rain check for that (7.99- minus 4.00 coupon then $4.00 ECB back).

I might send in for the suave rebate as well, depending on whether or not I like the body wash.

So I used all my ECBs, but I'll get 4 back to use for the next DEAL. That's ok with me!

Used coupons for everything ( except the paper which I shouldn't have bought anyways since there were no coupons) and they doubled them

Paid 8.37 and git $10.00 back

2 Brownie mixes
2 Cookie mixes
4 Pillsbury Grands biscuits
2 Toaster strudels

Paid $.64 OOP (used coupons and $10.00GC) and got $10.00 back

Then I used the $10.00 to get some meats

2 1/2 lbs ground Beef- $6.13
1 lb boneless center cut pork chops $4.88
3 1/2 lbs thin sliced boneless porkchops $5.32
1 Bottom round roast $6.93
Carrots $1.39
Sweet Onion- $1.45
potatos- $1.61

Minus $3.00 off meat coupons and $10.00 GC total OOP was $14.71
So total OOP was 23.72
TOTAL SAVINGS: $$55.27 whooohooo!
